Knock Knock, Who’s There?

Everyone’s favorite monsters, Sully and Mike from Monsters, Inc. make an appearance in this fabulous chalk drawing. A cute and fun image, the characters peek out from Boo’s door as though the world of the monsters was just beyond the pavement. Totally lifelike, this drawing will have you shouting boo!

Sadness

A beloved character, Sadness from Inside Out reminds us that it’s ok to feel all our emotions and be sad sometimes. The bright colors of the other memory orbs complement the blue of Sadness, who has been perfectly replicated. This is a smaller drawing, which is a great way to start if you are just getting into sidewalk art.

Evangeline

As the most difficult part is the house, older kids can be tasked with that component while younger ones can focus on making the balloons. Part of this effect comes from using darker colors on the edges rather than an outline, as well as incorporating different shading techniques. You Don’t Spell Love, You Feel It

The beginning of the previous drawing, this shows how to accomplish many of these chalk creations. The artist outlines the initial design (here, Pooh and Piglet), typically in plain white chalk. That makes it easier for the artist to see where the lines are, and to blend the white in later. From there, all that needs to happen is adding the color. Especially for designs with layers of color, texture, and shading, this is a great trick.

Our favorite summer-loving brothers from Phineas & Ferb are off on another crazy summer adventure! This time, surfing is the order of the day, complete with their buddy Perry the Platypus (aka Agent P). The sun and fun are evident, between the facial expressions and bright colors. The waves make you want to dive right in!

Jack Skellington

Everyone’s favorite skeleton is the perfect sidewalk decoration for spooky season (or Christmas, technically). Complete with his characteristic grin, Jack looks great in this design. The style of the art here reflects the book illustrations, a nice nod to the story. Adding the pumpkin above him fits with the theme and put the last touches on the decoration.

Disney Magic

When you think of Walt Disney World, these are probably some of the images that come to mind. No trip would be complete without fireworks, as the WDW shows are one of a kind. The castle is of course an iconic image, along with the sorcerer hat. Bright colors add a whimsical touch to the piece. I Like Warm Hugs

A fun way to take family photos, you can draw out the favorite character of your little prince or princess (or pirate or fairy…you get the idea), then snap a picture! Here, an adorable Anna is perfect next to the friendly snowman, Olaf. Have your child lay down next to the character or strike an action pose, however you want to frame the photo. Let’s Make a Deal

Hank, the cranky septopus from Finding Dory, and Dory make a cute pair in this chalk drawing. The moment seen here is when Hank is trying to get Dory to give him her tag to transfer him away to a new home, which Dory agrees to in exchange for finding her family. The expressions perfectly capture the nature of each character, as do the bright colors. It is almost as if the artist paused the movie and placed it on the pavement.

Circle of Life

Even non-Disney fans recognize the iconic image of Rafiki presenting the new prince, Simba, to the Pride Lands. Infant Simba hangs in the air, unaware of the significance of the moment, while Rafiki proudly displays the future king. The colors remain true to the film, capturing the scene perfectly.

Ohana Means Family

The beautiful message of ohana in Lilo and Stitch is one that warms our hearts. Stitch finds his ohana with Lilo and Nani, and while he was originally their pet he becomes so much more. However, it is a cute nod to the way Stitch met Lilo to have him sitting in a dog’s pose, as she found him at an animal shelter as her “dog.” His bright blue coloring and wide grin show the lovable side of Stitch, even if his behavior isn’t always lovable.

The Wonderful World of Disney

The Cinderella’s castle, Mickey, and Minnie are great additions to this family photo. As Tinker Bell is often seen within these scenes in the commercials or television specials, it’s a fun way to work the little fairy into the picture. Tinker Bell also flies from the castle every night to start the fireworks, so her placement is perfect.

Belle and her Beast

For Beauty and the Beast fans, this is a great picture option. Especially if you have a little princess, depicting the Beast and his rose is perfect for the pose. Highly detailed and dashing in his ballroom garb, this Beast is ideal for a photo opp.
