Disney Good Neighbor Hotels are excellent options for your Disney Vacation.

When you’re planning a trip to Walt Disney World, one of the hardest decisions is where to stay.

This becomes even harder if you’re planning to split your time with other attractions in the area, need to stick to a particular budget, or want to use travel benefits you might already have.

Never fear, Disney Good Neighbor Hotels are here!

Jump to the list of Disney Good Neighbor Hotels.

Table of Contents

What is a Disney Good Neighbor Hotel?

Disney Good Neighbor Hotels are hotels and resorts off Disney property that meet particular guidelines and standards set by Disney.

This ensures that you, a Disney guest, will still have a high-quality Disney experience even if you are not a Disney resort guest.

You also have access to transportation to the parks, a Disney concierge desk to answer your questions, as well as being in close proximity to Disney property.

What Makes a Disney Good Neighbor Hotel?

In order to get the Disney Good Neighbor Hotel seal of approval, hotels have to meet these guidelines:

  • Convenient and close to parks (within 2-14 miles)
  • Provide transportation to and from the parks (some fees can apply)
  • You can purchase Disney Theme Park tickets on site
  • Have a Guest Services desk to assist with Disney vacation planning and ticket purchases
  • Provide guests with access to Walt Disney World Resort information prior to arriving in the Disney Theme Parks
  • Meet Disney standards for quality and service
  • Offer standard rooms, suites and villa-style accommodations
  • Are AAA-approved

What are the Benefits of a Disney Good Neighbor Hotel?

While there are several, the biggest benefit is your personal flexibility.

We get it – Disney isn’t the only thing in the area! More than one Cast Member gets spotted at Hogwarts, and we understand if you want to check it out too.

Staying at a Disney Good Neighbor Hotel puts you in a central location with other parks, as well as golf courses, boat rides, and other activities.

Good Neighbor hotels are also ideal if you are a rewards member with a large resort or hotel. You can use and earn your rewards with your stay, getting perks that might not be available to you at a Disney resort, and still have an awesome Disney experience. Using hotel rewards points can also cut down on the cost of your trip, and who doesn’t love that?

Finally, speaking of budget, sometimes the Disney Good Neighbor Hotel options are just flat-out more affordable.

Even staying at a suite-only or villas resort can be less expensive than getting standard hotel-style room in a Disney resort. While we love the Disney resorts, we know they aren’t always the most budget-friendly. Additionally, going with a close, yet off-property resort can help offset those costs.

Do Disney Good Neighbor Hotels get extra magic hours?

The Extra Magic Hours benefit is available to all guests staying at any Walt Disney World Resort, as well as those staying at one of these select Good Neighbor Hotels.

Do Disney Good Neighbor Hotels get early park entry?

The list above showcases the selected Good Neighbor Hotels that get early park entry.

If you are staying at one of those Good Neighbor hotels, you will be able to experience Extra Magic Hours. These special hours give guests who are staying on-site extra time in one of the parks each day.

The schedule is released well in advance so that guests can plan their trips accordingly. These times rotate between the four main parks and often include Magic Kingdom and Epcot. The times typically start 30 minutes before park opening and allow guests to ride some of the most popular attractions before the crowds arrive. Magic Kingdom typically has morning extra magic hours while Epcot, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom have evening extra magic hours.

As we said previously, starting with the area and working backwards from there is a good start.

However, that still can mean deciding between fifteen to twenty different hotels.
