Characters traverse through the restaurant, coming right up to your table for an unforgettable meet & greet. That’s right, you don’t need to wait in line this time, which means more free time in the parks!

Throughout your meal there is a fun-n-festive musical parade, inviting both kids and adults to grab a maraca and strut their stuff beside those lovable Disney icons: Lilo, Stitch, Pluto, and of course, Mickey Mouse!

So be sure to bring your Disney autograph book and camera along, because this remarkable banquet provides you with plenty of opportunities to collect autographs, pose for pictures, and even dance, as you feast family-style at this one-of-a-kind tropical treat.

But, beware, you know how wacky and wild Stitch can be! Don’t let him steal your food or photo bomb your picture-perfect moment, which he has been known to do on several occasions.

If ‘Ohana’s Character Breakfast is on your list of must-dos, we strongly suggest that you make your reservations 180 days prior.

TIP: Be sure to wear your favorite Hawaiian-inspired outfit, as there are several photo opportunities. One of our favorites take place before you even step foot in the restaurant. You’ll find a PhotoPass Photographer stationed right outside of ‘Ohana, along with everyone’s favorite K9, Pluto!

KNOW BEFORE YOU GO: The spacing of each Character introduction is impeccable. So if you or your child are easily overwhelmed by lightning fast exchanges, rest assured, you’ll have ample time to interact, take a breath, and enjoy your meal. Fan Favorite: We’ll be honest, while the entire breakfast is rather tasty, especially the Pua’a (Pork Breakfast Sausage Links and Hawaiian-style Ham topped with Pineapple Compote), the best thing on this particular menu is the priceless memories you’ll make at this special Character Dining Experience.

Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto

Polynesian Cuisine | Casual Dining, Unique/Themed Dining, Lounges
Open: 3:00 PM – 12:00 AM
*Meal Plans Not Accepted

No two tiki bars are created equal. But if gags, wit, and hijinks are your idea of a good time, you just may find Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto the most… punny… of them all.

In 1934, Ernest Gantt opened Don the Beachcomber, a Polynesian-inspired bar that seemingly paid homage to the lush tropical islands he frequented throughout his travels in the South Pacific. After World War II, veterans sought to recreate the more pleasant memories of their time in paradise and quickly gravitated to these sanctuaries of escapism, where bamboo, thatched roofs, mystical mood lighting, creative cocktail concoctions, and buoy balls abound. Add a touch of underscoring from Martin Denny, and America’s tiki craze was born.

Now, if you’re a fan of the Jungle Cruise attraction, chances are you’re familiar with Trader Sam, the legendary “head” salesman, offering passersby the deal of a lifetime, two of his heads for one of yours. Well, he has officially set up shop in Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.

Located within The Great Ceremonial House, this 51-seat bar highlights highly immersive and interactive theming, overflowing with special effects, tiki statues, shrunken heads, and artifacts from around the world.

Keep in mind, a grog is a diluted rum that used to be served to sailors. So, you’ll find more to sip than chew here.

If you’re in search of more than light fair and appetizers, we suggest ‘Ohana’s exceptional cuisine for a fulfilling dining experience. However, if you’re in need of a libation, Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto is the proverbial ‘X’ on the map. But beware, your order just my wake a nearby sleeping volcano or anger the ancient tiki goddess, Uh Oa.

Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto is open to all ages from opening until 8:00 PM. After 8:00 PM, only Guests 21 years of age or older are permitted.

TIP: You cannot make an advanced reservation at Trader Sam’s and seating is extremely limited. However, it is absolutely one of the most fascinating hotspots on property.  Be sure to arrive early to put your name on ‘the list.’ You’ll be glad that you did.

FAN FAVORITE: There is only one drink in the world that can make the natives chant, instigate wet-n-windy storms to rage the seas, and wake an ancient omnipresent tiki-goddess. Oh, and did we mention… this lively libation is topped with real flames? Aptly named, Uh-Oa`, this classic staple at Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto treats guests to a little bit of everything, including; Plantation Original Dark Rum, Bacardi Superior Rum, Orange, Passion Fruit, Guava, Pineapple, and Grapefruit Juices, Falernum, Cinnamon, and fresh Lime Juice. While we do love it for the interactive aspect, it is absolutely to die for!
